Preaching in Spanish

Yesterday evening was truly a blessing.  Over 18 months ago, I promised our North Campus, primarily a Spanish Speaking Congregation, that I would preach a message in Spanish within 18 months. Pastor Mina, the North Campus Pastor, and I set the date for May 13, 2010 prior to Mentorship conferenece.  It definitely gave me an appreciation for the difficulty of adapting into another culture when the primary language is something other than your own.  The Lord's Presence and anointing were both present in which we had a good move of God.  The Message was entitled Pronto which means Soon. It dealt with the soon coming of the Lord and the fact that if we are not careful, we can allow the cares of life and business of our society to "Choke" the word and become unfruitful.  However, as Jesus' heartbeat is, we must focus on the lost and sharing our testimony to a world that needs God. The biggest challenge was to pronounce the six and seven syllable words instead of the usual 2 - 3 syllables we use in our language.  Definitely am thankful for the experience and have a greater hunger to gain command of the Spanish language.
